God began His Kingdom through Jesus Christ, and
provided the Bible as the core foundation for the Church's doctrine.
We believe the Bible is our source of faith and practice, and enjoy the
lessons given to us through the Spirit. As such, our Core Values
as a church are the following statements of belief: |
|
| |
We Believe that...
-
Christ
is the Hope of the World and the Head of the Church. Our existence as a
fellowship is only because of the saving work of Jesus on the Cross. (1Pet 3:15,
1Tim 4:10, Col 1:18)
-
Prayer
is the oxygen for the Church, and Love is its blood. (John 17:20-21, Mark 11:17,
1Cor 13:13, John 13:34-35)
-
Authentic
Worship is a God-given lifestyle that frees us from the entanglements of life
and glorifies God in heaven. (John 4:23-24, 2Cor 3:16-18)
-
God’s
heart is for people. All People matter to God, so He sent the Church to
bring people into His Kingdom. (Matt 18:14, Luke 15, 2Pet 3:9)
-
Cultural
relevance is not optional, and must be accompanied with sound doctrine to be
effective. (Rom 1:14-16, Acts 15, Tit 1:9, 2:1)
-
Complete
devotion to Christ is not only expected, but exhilarating! It is reflected
in a life that embraces joyful discipline, accelerated maturity, servant
leadership, and creative excellence through the use of spiritual gifts. (2Tim
3:16-17, Eph 4:11-15, Col 2:6-7, Heb 12:1)
-
Community
is the context of life change, of effective ministry, and of strong
relationships. God designed it in the family and empowered it in the
Church. (John 13:34-35, Deut 6:6-9, Eph 5:22-6:4)

We have
implemented these values in Four Pillars
of the church. They are:
-
Word - God gave us the greatest
instruction manual for both this life, and receiving the life to
come through His Word. The Bible is an amazing book, that
sets the foundation for all of our core values and beliefs.
Without it, we would have no standard for behavior and no way to
receive eternal life. It is our desire to grow every person
along their journey by understanding God's Word and teaching
others how to dig into Christ's playbook.
-
Prayer -
Prayer is not a monologue, but the opportunity to talk and share
with God in a personal relationship. We do this in many
forms, including worship, praise, prayer and devotion. It is
the foundation for a totally devoted life to Christ. We
practice it as a body and teach others how to pray, based on the
model Jesus gave us through the disciples. By helping people
see prayer as an experience, it opens the doorway to a deeper
relationship with God.
-
Service - Every person was created
for a purpose, and with a unique stamp of giftedness to complete
that purpose. Serving is a special gift of God that benefits
others and grows us into the character of Christ. Our desire
is to help every person achieve their purpose in the Kingdom by
discovering and using their gifts.
-
Love - Our focus is not on
accumulating an audience, but on loving people one at a
time. Jesus did not concern himself with
crowd-gathering, but took time in every situation to care for the
needs of each individual. We desire to be a healthy church,
and that includes following the example of Christ by loving each
person we meet.
